About this course

Counselling is essential for addressing the unique challenges and needs of offenders within the correctional institution or community setting. Effective counselling is more than knowing specialised theories and techniques. It is also about possessing the ability to communicate and build a working alliance with the offender, and is a collaborative process of discovering areas of challenges, strengths, and working towards their aspirations.

Upon completing the course, you will have a better understanding of the microskills and their applications to various settings, as well as methods for improving our counselling practices.
