Move to the Beat of Active Ageing

Active ageing is more than keeping physically fit—it’s about enhancing quality of life, fostering social inclusion, boosting mental wellness, and drawing on the power of community.
Music and movement are powerful tools for healthy ageing. The Drums-Up for Active Ageing (Certified Trainer) course by SUSS UniLEARN equips you to lead fun, rhythmic drumming-with-exercise-ball sessions that keep seniors active, engaged, and socially connected.
Such exercises empower older adults to age gracefully — building physical strength, boosting mental well-being, and fostering community bonds. It also supports Singapore’s broader vision of active ageing, where Active Ageing Centres (AACs), volunteers, and community leaders come together to create inclusive, age-friendly environments. As a certified trainer, you’ll be part of this movement — helping seniors thrive with confidence, joy, and purpose.
💬 “I think ageing well means enjoying life as we grow older, having friends we can always look to help each other. It’s about neighbourliness — or what we call ‘kakis’ in the Kampung — where we invite each other for coffee, to exercise together, and to keep stimulating our minds by learning new things. That’s what lifelong learning is about.”
— Dr Kelvin Tan, Programme Head, Minor in Applied Ageing Studies, SUSS
